Most women expect to lose all the baby weight within days of childbirth – but in reality pregnancy and postpartum weight loss are not so simple. Despite the huge changes that come along with having a baby, most moms don’t make significant progress to getting back to their pre-baby body until much later on. Weight Loss is Slow

During the first 6 weeks postpartum, women naturally lose the weight they gained during pregnancy. After that, weight loss becomes much slower unless you exercise and watch your diet. While it varies from person to person, typically it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months to fully regain your pre-pregnancy weight. So if you’re expecting to bounce back to your pre-baby body a month or two after giving birth – that’s unlikely to happen. It’s important to be patient and realistic about your progress.

Moms typically don’t have a lot of time on their hands, but here are some practical tips to help you start working towards your postpartum weight loss goals:
